Tabasco Sauce Makes Hot Advertising

Tabasco, the hot sauce produced by McIllhenny, has been the subject of a number of quirky television commercials over the years. You may have seen the 1996 television commercial for Tabasco sauce in which God up in heaven notices too late that his tabasco sauce bottle is dripping down to earth, causing terrible scorching explosions down below.

“Mosquito,” the award-winning TV commercial for TABASCO® brand Pepper Sauce, first aired on national television in 1998. The mosquito explodes in mid air after sucking on the blood of a Tabasco consumer. Click on the image below to play the video.

“Tattoo” has a guy watching the game while applying green Tabasco to his corn chips. The dog on his tattoo decides it’s getting too hot to stick around.

Meteor was developed at DDB Dallas by creative director Steve Bassett, copywriter Kevin Sutton, art director David Ring, agency producer Carrie Birnbaum, account supervisor Dianne Sollom working with Tabasco marketing director Martin Manion. Filming was shot by director Charles Wittenmeier. Music was by NonStop Music.

Tabasco ‘Mosquito’ or ‘Burn Out’ was created at DDB Needham by copywriter Galen J. Greenwood, art director Tom Moudry, agency producer Hal Dantzler and chief creative officer was Jim Ferguson.

Filming was shot by director Dick Buckley at Squeak Films. Dick has since moved to Coppos Films and is now directing with LTB Films. Editing was done by Michael Van de Kamer at PostOp in Dallas. Sound was mixed by Damian Wagner, Sound Furnace. Visual effects for the mosquito were developed at Animal Makers.

Tabasco “Tattoo” was developed at DDB Dallas by creative director David Ring, copywriter Wade Alger, art director Jay Russell, agency producer Hal Dantzler, account supervisor Dianne Sollom and Tabasco marketing director Martin Manion. Filming was shot by director John Adams, with editor Brent Herrington.

Filming was shot by director Keith Rose via Crossroads Films with producer Paul Abanese and editor Hal Honigsberg. Music was produced at Ten Music.
