How Much Is Your Blog Worth?

Written on December 1, 2005 – 10:30 am | by Duncan |

Recently Dane Carlson posted a little applet that helps people work out their blog’s worth. The calculation is linked with Technorati’s API which computes and diplays you’re blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the recent AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.

Check it out at at Dane’s business opportunities blog.

Obviously it’s more a laugh than it is accurate. Status in the blogosphere does not necessarily lead to income, or even high visit levels. Take the Pacific Highlander and Duncan’s TV Ad land blogs as an example. Although Pacific Highlander (on the top) has twice as many Technorati links as TV Adland (on the bottom), Duncan’s TV Ad land has probably 25 times the number of visitors.

Pacific Highlander is worth $28,791.54.

Duncan’s TV Adland is worth $15,242.58.
