I’ve posted tonight on the 1999 Instant Kiwi Exam television ad at Duncan’s TV Adland. It was a classic ad that still gets a laugh and has been hosted on ‘funny video’ web sites around the world. Watching it again tonight I noticed for the first time the significance of the apple on the supervisor’s desk.

Giving the teacher an apple is a way to get on his or her good side. It’s a traditional gift that is customary in the USA, Sweden and Denmark to name at least three countries.
