New Zealand Labour Coalition Chances

Written on October 1, 2005 – 10:24 pm | by Duncan |

The news came through this morning. The special vote are all counted and National has lost one of the seats won on election day Which means that National has only 48. Labour has 50. NZ First has 7. The Greens have 6. Maori Party has 4. United Future has 3. Progressives 1.

My prediction is that we’ll see a government formed by Labour, New Zealand First, United Future and Progressives (the 61 votes needed). The Greens are likely to give a guarantee of votes. The Maori Party are not likely to give that guarantee.
