Bethlehemian Rhapsody

The Muppets have been rocking the crowds with their cover version of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody this Christmas. But here’s a Christmas-flavoured version of the classic put together by the puppet team at Fairfax Church of Christ. The lyrics, written by Mark Brady, provide a brilliant take on the Christmas story. The soundtrack sounds great. Production values are nothing like The Muppets, being an amateur group no doubt put together by an all age cast. It went down well at church in Ashmore this morning.

Bethlehem Rhapsody Angels

Is this the real birth?
Is it nativity?
Caught a census in the town of his ancestry
Open your eyes
Look up the skies and see
He’s just a poor boy
foretold by prophecy
’cause the wise men come, wise men go
Angels high, shepherds low
This is how God’s love shows
It’s a wondrous story to me…

Mary just got the word
The angels did appear
but he told her not to fear
Mary now’s it’s just begun
Your son is gonna wash our sins away
Mary ooo the God who reigns on high
has sent his son to live and die for us…
