What digital natives want from their library

Abbey is a 3 year old digital native. This is what she wants from her library. Abbey’s video, filmed in East Melbourne Library, launched the 15th Biennial VALA Conference and Exhibition in Melbourne Australia. VALA – Libraries, Technology and the Future Inc. is an independent Australian based not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote the use and understanding of information technology within libraries and the broader information sector.

  1. This almost comes across as a parody of the digital native stuf: The video lists a bunch of meaningless technologies without any reference to what they might actually do or in what context they’ll be used and the cute little girl clearly doesn’t get what it’s all for either.
