Steve Drinkall in Brisbane is running a series of “Postcard Forums” in Nambour, Ipswich and Brisbane, asking the question, “What does it mean to mimic Jesus living in South East Queensland in 2010?” It’s a question worth asking, despite the danger that we could uncritically attempt to emulate the approach Jesus took in his context. The conversation is connected with the “emerging church” approach to conversation in which we begin with the gospels as a starting point, with a commitment to engaging with and critiquing both our current cultural context and the typical church’s response.

The forums are being held at Hinterland Heart Coffee Bar in Nambour, Tuesday May 4, The Coffee Club in Mt Gravatt, Thursday May 6, and Platform 3 Cafe in Ipswich, Monday May 10. Attendance is free.
