International Cell Church Summit in Queensland

Coming up this month in Queensland we have two back to back summits on cell church. The cell church model was promoted heavily by Ralph Neighbour back in the 1980s but hasn’t taken off here as much as in Asia. The basic hallmarks of ‘cells’ are discipleship, fellowship and connecting with the wider community in evangelism and social action. Cell church networks have both small groups and larger celebrations. This is different to the house church concept in which small groups are not expected to feed into a larger group.

The Australian Cell Church Summit is a nondenominational gathering of cell based ministers and leaders and has grown out of a felt need for those who are doing cell and on the journey to gather together and network and build relationships.

The summit is being held at Margate Conference Centre in Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane. It’s very close to the date now but there might be spaces left there. Check out the web site at www.accn.org.au/

Guest Speaker is Jim Yost, a long term missionary in Papua who has been involved in Cell Church planting since 1977.
