Blogging Elevator Pitch

I’ve just joined up with Darren Rowse’s 31 Days to Build a Better Blog Challenge, which starts today with the first task, “Write An Elevator Pitch”. I’m using Darren’s Problogger program to fine tune The Inspiration Room Daily and to rebuild the viability of this blog, Postkiwi.

Elevator Up Button

Darren uses the Wikipedia definition: “An elevator pitch is an overview of an idea for a product, service, or project. The name reflects the fact that an elevator pitch can be delivered in the time span of an elevator (lift) ride (for example, thirty seconds or 100-150 words).

Having merged a number of blogs into one, each with its own easily expressed ‘elevator pitch’, I now have the challenge of being clear about what this blog is about.

My Postkiwi Elevator Pitch

I keep writing for this blog for the people who are looking for alternatives to the views expressed found in the majority of books in Christian bookshops. Connecting faith and culture leads me to writing about art, generational change, theology, reading, film and television, and life online. I am committed to an honest engagement with belief, values, and practice. The word “Post” refers to thinking outside the square, being Post Evangelical, engaging in a Post Modernist critique and reconstruction of faith. The word “Kiwi” refers to my country of origin in the South Pacific.
