Murray Hill Place, the Opus Dei US Headquarters and conference centre at 243 Lexington Ave, New York City, is the setting for Chapter 5 in Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code”. Brown refers to designers May & Pinska as he gives the specifics of one hundred bedrooms, six dining rooms, libraries, living rooms, meeting rooms and offices.

According to the site Escrivé founded Opus Dei to spread the message that work and other daily activities are occasions for personal spiritual growth and for improving society. Opus Dei helps people follow Christ in their daily lives and make him present in every endeavor.

Opus Dei have a page outlining their respone to Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code”. They point out that the Lexington site is the headquarters for the USA rather than for the whole world. The Lexington St entrance is used by both male and female. There are separate quarters for celibate males and celibate females.
