Criteria for Projects

As the Vision for Mission team considers its support of mission projects, the following criteria will be considered. These criteria were included in the Vision For Mission document approved at the Queensland Synod, 2005.

  1. Focus on cultural or common-purpose groups.
  2. Relational approaches to evangelism.
  3. People growing in faith & becoming active disciples of Christ.
  4. Connections and relationships with individuals and groups in wider community.
  5. New and innovative approaches to ministry and mission – carried out collaboratively, ecumenically, by groups and teams of people.
  6. Community service that pursues justice for, and enhance the quality of life of, the aged, the poor, the homeless, the refugee, those with a disability, and other disadvantaged people in our society.
  7. Continuing training, formation and support for those showing personal qualities, skills, maturity and spiritual gifts for leadership.
  8. Attending to generational differences and allowing for youth and early adults to embrace, and participate in the realisation of the Vision in ways appropriate to their experience, giftedness, and preferences.
  9. Maximising the use of owned properties & renting property.
  10. Creative alternatives to fulltime employment of staff.
