Sony Bravia Paint Blog

Sony is making the most of online interest in the Sony Bravia Balls campaign by alerting people in advance to their plans for the sequel: Paint. I wrote the Sony Bravia Bouncing Balls story up here back in October 2005. Sony’s marketers noticed the energy that emerged before the ad even appeared online or on television screens. Photos appeared at Flickr, posted by San Francisco residents who witnessed the incredible shoot. And when the ad came out the online interest was incredible. People wanted to know if the balls were CG or real. José González‘s rendition of Heartbeats won the hearts of many. Nicolai Fuglsig was director. The new Sony Advert will continue with the ‘Colour Like No Other’ theme, but this time with paint instead of balls. Jonathan Glazer, Academy Films director, is working on the shoot now. See my post on Jonathan Glazer from October 2004.

The Sony Bravia marketing team this time are deliberately rolling out updates from the set at the Bravia Advert Paint web site. Additional content formatted for the PSP as well as Sony BRAVIA’s online audience will include video blogs from the set of the ad, podcasts of interviews and commentary from the set, written blog entries, extensive behind the scenes footage and high quality photography.

Clue One

Just this last hour the Sony Bravia Editor has posted a photograph of a grey high rise building. Visual clue number one. Watch this space.

Clue Two

The Sony Bravia Paint ad will use explosives and will be filmed somewhere in Scotland.

Clue Three

Glasgow’s Evening Times has revealed that Bravia’s paint shot will be filmed in Queen’s Court, Toryglen, Glasgow. The building will be demolished afterwards, before the ad screens on television. Local film production company, Mallison Television Production, is helping Jonathan Glazer and team with location services.
