Supermarket Trolleys On NZ Roads

Supermarket trolleys filled with people hit the screens of New Zealand in October 2006, but not for a Jackass re-run. It’s all in aid of a campaign for Progressive Enterprises Limited (Woolworths, Foodtown and Countdown supermarkets), announcing a new grocery fuel discount deal in association with Shell and Gull New Zealand.

The lighthearted ad poses the question, what would it be like if shopping trolleys became the new means of transport? Washing trolleys, buying trolleys, speeding in trolleys (If you get trolleyed then trolley you’re a bloody idiot), toy trolleys, parking trolleys, and fuelling trolleys… they’re all covered. The message: Anyone who spends $40 or more shopping at any Woolworths, Foodtown or Countdown supermarket will receive a voucher for four cents per litre off fuel purchases.
