Performance preacher/poet Rob Bell has something to say on the resurrection of Jesus, drawing out from Jesus’ words, “Destroy this temple and I will build it again in three days”. At the heart of the historical Jesus story is the provocative, compelling, subversive, beautiful insistence that nothing can ever be the same again, not after resurrection.

every impulse that elevates the soul
is a sign, a taste, a glimpse
of how things actually are
and how things will ultimately be
resurrection affirms this life and the next
as a seamless reality
embraced
graced
and saved by God
