Google Moon Launch

Google MoonI’ve just had a look at Google Moon. Thanks to Half Pie Alan MacDougall in Wellington for the link.

After Google Earth and Google Maps it was only a matter of time before Google got to the moon. It looks as though this project was up in time for the 36th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20.

One small step for Google, one giant step for the internet.

The map in question is only one small section of the Moon’s surface. It covers the area in which Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 landed.

Zoom right in though and you find out what the surface of the moon is really made of.
