Oxfam New Zealand is promoting its Unwrapped Christmas gift program with an animated viral/TV campaign featuring a singing donkey accompanied by two goats and a chicken.
Chickens are flying high, once again leading the pack of Oxfam Unwrapped “funusual” gift ideas. Scott Young, Oxfam’s Direct Marketing Manager said, “Goats have been neck and neck, but no matter how high they climb, they just haven’t been able to get above the chooks. Must be the wings.”
Oxfam’s catalogue of alternative gift ideas has given thousands of New Zealanders a feel-good way to get through the holidays: family and friends get a card while the actual gift goes to people in the developing world who need it most. From condoms to bikes to trees, there are dozens of other choices that will make a big difference.

Lyrics for Oxfam Unwrapped Christmas
‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all around the world
Presents were wrapped
and ribbons were curled
Parcels and packages stacked under trees
To be opened explored
Enthused over
and promptly forgotten.
What if this year you gave something more useful?
Who likes aromatherapy? Handkerchiefs? (Not for me)
A pot plant under the Christmas tree? (not for me, or me)
Say what’s the use of a singing fish?
A stinky candle? A heat proof dish?
Make someone’s Christmas wish
and buy me, buy me, buy me buy me!
We all get the same old box of chocs
soap on a rope and grandpa socks
Put something new in your Christmas stocks
and buy meeeeee!!!!!
Don’t buy crap this Christmas!
Buy me! Buy me! Buy me! Buy me!
Don’t buy crap this Christmas!
Buy me! Buy me! Buy me! Buy me!
Don’t head out on a shopping spree
and dump it under the Christmas tree
Buy me! Buy me! Buy me! Buy me!
Buy us!
The super: “Now buy me for real and make a serious difference this Christmas.” www.oxfamunwrapped.co.nz
